WEBVTT 00:00.000 --> 00:05.320 Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look. 00:05.320 --> 00:11.000 Today we're taking a look at an Acer Predator laptop, which usually means very gaudy design, 00:11.000 --> 00:16.720 a lot of RGB strips because it is aimed solely at the hardcore gamers among us, or at least 00:16.720 --> 00:19.680 the gamers that want to bring their gaming on the go. 00:19.680 --> 00:25.960 But even though that this is the Predator logo that is emblazoned on the lid, which 00:25.960 --> 00:32.620 is also RGB powered, it is a little bit different than Predator Tritons of old. 00:32.620 --> 00:39.680 This is called the Triton 14 AI and yes, it is really dumb that they put AI in the name, 00:39.680 --> 00:47.000 it is absolutely gimmick-fest and that is just the nature of consumer technology today. 00:47.000 --> 00:55.480 But there is a very different angle with which Acer has chosen to present the Triton 14 AI 00:55.480 --> 01:03.760 in 2025 and that is, this is a gaming laptop, sure, but it's made for creators and that 01:03.760 --> 01:10.160 actually also means that it might be better at just being an all-arounder than older Acer 01:10.160 --> 01:13.280 Predator laptops have been in the past. 01:13.280 --> 01:20.720 Now what I mean by that is that this is actually a really slim profile, or it's not the slimmest 01:20.720 --> 01:26.680 profile that you can get, but it's closing in on something like Microsoft Surface territory 01:26.680 --> 01:30.520 and it is incredibly sleek to look at. 01:30.520 --> 01:35.880 It has big rubber standoffs here, which you can think about what you want, but still, 01:35.880 --> 01:41.160 even if it has those, there is no gaudy flair here. 01:41.160 --> 01:46.360 It is all very subdued, particularly by Acer standards. 01:46.360 --> 01:49.280 It continues when you come in here. 01:49.280 --> 01:52.280 There is obviously a Predator logo there. 01:52.280 --> 02:00.240 There is also really ugly Intel Core Ultra and GeForce RTS stickers, but apart from that, 02:00.240 --> 02:02.500 this is subdued, isn't it? 02:02.500 --> 02:06.000 It could even look like something meant for office use. 02:06.000 --> 02:12.720 I think that is really interesting, a really interesting departure from their gaudy design 02:12.720 --> 02:19.240 philosophy at the Predator section of Acer and towards something which isn't embarrassing 02:19.240 --> 02:20.240 anymore. 02:20.240 --> 02:23.080 I think that's really nice, and the screen is nice as well. 02:23.080 --> 02:34.480 It is a 14.5-inch, 16x10, 800p, 120Hz OLED, which has 1 millisecond of response time and 02:34.480 --> 02:38.080 does 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. 02:38.080 --> 02:39.920 It's touchscreen-enabled. 02:39.920 --> 02:46.480 This trackpad is as well with a stylus that you get in the box, and it's Kalman verified. 02:46.480 --> 02:52.440 That means that this is fantastic for creative work for a lot of different types of people. 02:52.440 --> 02:56.320 It is marketed as Co-Pilot Plus and easy access to AI. 02:56.320 --> 03:00.800 Obviously there is the Co-Pilot button, but if you just want something which is good for 03:00.800 --> 03:06.480 3D animation or whatever it is that the case might be in terms of a pretty professional 03:06.480 --> 03:12.160 like raw workload, this can do both the gaming that you want and the work that you need all 03:12.160 --> 03:17.840 seemingly in the same envelope without the design suffering. 03:17.840 --> 03:24.620 It hosts an Intel Core Ultra 9, which is volted at 288V, meaning better battery life, hopefully, 03:24.620 --> 03:27.480 and more AI focused than the other HX series. 03:27.480 --> 03:34.200 It has an RTX 5070 inside alongside 8GB of VRAM with 5th Gen Tensor Cores, AI, and DLSS4 03:34.200 --> 03:35.200 for gaming. 03:35.200 --> 03:42.120 It has a 2TB NVMe SSD alongside 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM. 03:42.120 --> 03:48.640 Inside we find the 6th Gen Aeroblade cooling design, that's 3D fans. 03:48.640 --> 03:55.520 Those are 0.05mm fan blades, by the way, and there's hundreds of them, and they're graphene-based 03:55.520 --> 04:02.220 for better thermal interfacing, alongside a vapor chamber, which basically should mean 04:02.220 --> 04:05.460 that it will perform admirably in terms of battery life, but that is something that we 04:05.460 --> 04:08.620 cannot verify fully yet. 04:08.620 --> 04:13.580 There's per-key RGB lighting, and once you remove these stickers, it's pretty subtle, 04:13.580 --> 04:15.620 I gotta say. 04:15.620 --> 04:23.460 It's 3,182 Euros, which means that you do pay a lot for the privilege, and the 5070 04:23.460 --> 04:30.360 GPU and the Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU does mean that I have a few concerns for that aforementioned 04:30.360 --> 04:38.680 battery life, but still, this is frighteningly close to looking like a Dell XPS 14, and that 04:38.680 --> 04:43.260 is not something I was expecting to say about a Predator laptop. 04:43.260 --> 04:46.960 So very exciting indeed, we're going to take a full look very soon. 04:46.960 --> 04:47.520 See you on the next one.
